Day 1: Arrival in Crete / Transfer to the Hotel (16–22 km / 20–30 minutes)

After arriving at Heraklion Airport, you will be guided to the bus that will take you to your hotel in Gouves or Hersonissos for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure and explore the charming surroundings on your own.
Dinner is included. Overnight in the Gouves or Hersonissos area.

Day 2: Crete – Boat Trip to Spinalonga Island (130 km / 8 hours)

After a delicious breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel to discover some of Greece’s hidden treasures.
Spinalonga is one of Crete’s most famous sites and is sometimes called the “Island of Tears” because of its past as a leper colony. Originally a Venetian fortress, it later became home to hundreds of people suffering from leprosy, who were transported there and formed a community.

Upon arrival, you will take a guided tour through the enchanting remains of the colony. See the main street, still lined with shops and houses where the inhabitants tried to live a normal life.
Later, sail back to Elounda, where you will enjoy a typical Cretan lunch. Then you’ll have free time to stroll around, shop, or swim.
Lunch and dinner are included. Overnight in the Gouves or Hersonissos area.

Day 3: Crete – Palace of Knossos & Heraklion (42 km / 7–8 hours)

After a tasty breakfast, you will be picked up and taken to the impressive Palace of Knossos. Dating back to around 1900 BC, it was the center of the Minoan civilization and the legendary site where the fearsome Minotaur was said to lurk in the labyrinth. Enjoy an informative tour as your guide explains the myths surrounding the palace and its kings.

Afterward, visit the lively city of Heraklion, seeing the Venetian Lion Fountain and the Loggia, which now serves as the town hall. The wonderful tour ends at the entrance to the old harbor, where you can begin exploring the area on your own.
For those wanting to delve even deeper into Greek history, you may join the guided tour of the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion.

Your day ends with a comfortable transfer back to your hotel in the Gouves or Hersonissos area.

Day 4: Crete – Land Rover Safari Experience: Exploring the Minoan Route (120 km / 8 hours)

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before heading to central Crete to learn about mythology, culture, flora, fauna, and everyday local life.
Your adventure begins when you meet your drivers, who will take you to the first stop: the Aposelimi Dam.

Continue the journey along scenic paths and olive groves until you reach the ruins of the Roman aqueduct of Lyttos. After admiring the site, continue toward the picturesque village of Kastamonitsa, where you will taste local raki and olive oil with the locals.

Then the real off-road adventure begins! Travel up into the mountains along an old Minoan path toward a local shepherd’s area, where you can sample homemade cheese and spot various wildlife species.
Next, head to a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Minoan trail and the first section of the Lassithi Plateau.

Descend to the plateau to explore it, then cross to the other side and stop for a delicious traditional lunch with unlimited wine (vegetarian option available).
The adventure continues until you reach the village of Krassi, the last stop of the day. See the 2,000-year-old plane tree and learn about the natural spring water there.

Finish this exciting day with a transfer back to your hotel.
Overnight in the Gouves or Hersonissos area.

Day 5: Departure from Crete (16–22 km / 20–30 minutes)

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Then enjoy your transfer to Heraklion Airport and continue with your travel plans.
