Glamping: Garden Route to Kruger (Standard Package)

South Africa | Seven destinations: Cape Town, Oudtshoorn, Plettenberg Bay, Paterson, Pretoria, White River & Johannesburg |
Six hotels | Fourteen nights
Day 1: Arrival in Cape Town
Arrive at Cape Town International Airport and collect your rental car at the Europcar counter.
Drive into the city and check in at your hotel.
You will spend your first three nights here while exploring Cape Town and its surroundings.
Optional day tours in the city—such as Bo-Kaap, the Company’s Garden, Table Mountain or the Cape Peninsula—can be added on request.
Day 2: Cape Town
Explore Cape Town at your own pace — we recommend a tour to Cape Point.
En route, enjoy the scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive, passing through Noordhoek, Fish Hoek, and Simon’s Town, with a stop to visit the charming penguins at Boulders Beach.
Day 3: Cape Town
Enjoy another day discovering beautiful Cape Town — for example, the Constantia Winelands paired with a visit to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
Day 4: Cape Town to Oudtshoorn
Drive along the scenic Route 62 to Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo, where you will spend two nights.
Explore at your leisure: the Cango Caves, the various ostrich farms, or wake up before sunrise to join a meerkat tour!
Day 5: Oudtshoorn
Discover more of the Little Karoo region as you wish.
Adventure seekers can drive over the Swartberg Pass, offering beautiful mountain landscapes and spectacular views.
Day 6: Oudtshoorn to Plettenberg Bay
Drive back toward the coast via Outeniqua Pass, through Wilderness and Knysna, to Plettenberg Bay.
Begin your Garden Route exploration here:
Take a boat trip on Knysna Lagoon (with a chance to taste the region’s famous oysters), go on an eco-tour in the Featherbed Nature Reserve, hike in the Robberg Nature Reserve, relax on the beach, or enjoy boutique shopping in this exclusive seaside town.
The Tsitsikamma National Park is also nearby, offering hikes at Storms River Mouth, kayaking, or even a bungee jump from the world’s highest commercial bungee bridge.
Day 7: Plettenberg Bay
Consider a drive to The Crags, home to boutique wineries.
Visit Storms River Mouth again if you wish, and enjoy a delicious lunch at Enrico’s on Keurbooms Beach.
Bird and primate lovers can visit Birds of Eden or Monkeyland.
Day 8: Amakhala Game Reserve
Continue along the coast via Port Elizabeth to the Amakhala Game Reserve, where you will stay for two nights.
Exciting safari adventures await you.
Each morning and afternoon, you join the lodge’s experienced rangers on game drives to track the Big Five.
Please note: arrival must be no later than 14:00 and departure no earlier than 10:30 to participate in all activities (activities are non-refundable if missed due to flight times).
Day 9: Amakhala Game Reserve
Wake up to the sounds of the African bush and embark on an early morning game drive in a 4x4 with your ranger.
During your stay, you will enjoy a total of 4 game drives per person (starting on arrival afternoon and ending on departure morning).
Experience the captivating bush landscape and relax in your safari tent between activities.
Day 10: Amakhala to Pretoria
After your final morning game drive and breakfast, drive to Port Elizabeth Airport.
Return your rental car and check in for your flight to Johannesburg.
On arrival in Johannesburg, collect your new rental car and drive to Pretoria to check in at your hotel.
The afternoon is free at leisure.
Optional afternoon tours from Pretoria, Johannesburg, or the Cradle of Humankind can be booked.
Day 11: Pretoria to Ndhula Tented Lodge
Drive to Ndhula Lodge, located between the artistic town of White River and Nelspruit (Mbombela), at the gateway to Kruger National Park.
From here, you can explore the scenic Panorama Route or enjoy self-drives and guided safaris in Kruger.
Day 12: Ndhula Tented Lodge
Track the Big Five and many other animals, and admire the diverse flora and fauna of the area.
You may explore Kruger with your own vehicle or book optional guided game drives with an experienced ranger.
Enjoy the peaceful bush scenery, relax at the pool, or treat yourself to a spa massage (optional).
Day 13: Ndhula Tented Lodge
Spend another day exploring Kruger National Park.
Alternatively, drive the Panorama Route — highlights include Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Blyde River Canyon, the Three Rondavels, God’s Window, Graskop and its impressive Gorge Lift, waterfalls such as Berlin Falls and Mac Mac Falls, and the historic gold-mining town of Pilgrim’s Rest.
Day 14: Ndhula Tented Lodge
Design your day with another safari in Kruger, or continue exploring the Panorama Route.
If you feel like discovering something new, you can join a full-day tour to the Kingdom of Eswatini (Swaziland), visit the Sudwala Caves, or see the chimpanzees at Chimp Eden (all optional).
Day 15: Ndhula Tented Lodge to Johannesburg
Today it’s time to say goodbye.
After breakfast and check-out, drive back to Johannesburg, return your rental car, and check in for your onward or return flight.
We wish you a pleasant journey and hope to welcome you back to Southern Africa soon.
